“Silent Quaker Vigil at Rutherford Place now at 5:30 pm Wednesdays”
Noting a time change beginning this week, the Silent Quaker Vigil in support of overcoming institutional racism will be held at the Meetinghouse courtyard at Rutherford Place and 15th Street, Manhattan, from 5:30-6:30 pm Wednesdays.
This vigil recognizes the special role, needs and debt to the African-American Community. We stand silent and united in our core belief in the power of nonviolence and the transformative guidance of the eternal spirit which is the source of renewal of all things.
We ask that spirit to take control of our lives, thoughts and actions while granting us the patience, wisdom discernment and dexterity to dismantle institutional, societal and individual racism.
This is our focus. This is our prayer.
