Focus Group on Quaker Living
As some of you may know, there is a group called Care for Quaker Living, a subcommittee of the NYQM Ministry & Counsel, that has been considering issues related to housing and life care for our Friends as we age. The committee has hired a social work consultant, James Singletary, to help us further frame our thoughts and ideas on what we might, as Quaker communities, offer toF/friends as we age. James has met with some of the members of our committee and with folks who have participated in some of the workshops developed last year.
At this time, we would like to expand these conversations and invite you and a few others to meet with him, Wednesday October 2, at 9:00 am at The Riverside Church, room 9T (490 Riverside Drive, but the best entrance is on Claremont Ave, just behind Union Theological Seminary). The discussion should last an hour.
We would greatly appreciate it – each time we discuss what might we need, we always learn more, and that will guide our work as we look to expand this planning effort to the meetings in the Quarter this coming winter.
Thank you and please let me know if you plan to attend by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or leave a message at 212-757-3504.
