This reading group is designed to help Friends process more deeply the issues of Quaker’s participating and non-participation in efforts to achieve racial justice for African Americans.
The reading group will meet alternating Sundays from 1-3PM
at the Brooklyn Meeting House at 110 Schermerhorn Street Brooklyn NY.
Meeting dates are October 29th, November 12, November 29th. Come to one or come to all sessions
October 29th session will focus on
Chapters 1-2 Ending Enslavement among Friends:1688-1787 and Addressing North American Enslavement 1800-1860
Please come prepared with something that stood out for you in these first two chapters.
Something you didn’t know, something you were surprised to learn, something you feel sad about or something that inspires you for our discussion.
